Shouya Ishida

The main character, Ishida, stands at 183 cm and serves as both the narrator and a deeply flawed individual. After bullying Nishimiya Shouko in elementary school, he faced ostracism and bullying himself, leading him to a dark place where he contemplated suicide. However, after sincerely apologizing to Nishimiya and learning sign language to communicate with her, he begins to find redemption. Despite his efforts, he feels he hasn't atoned enough for his past actions and believes he will never regain the friendships he lost.
