Koyomi is a laid-back third-year high school student struggling academically, with math being his only strong subject. He has a close friendship with Tsubasa Hanekawa but has largely distanced himself from others due to past traumas that eroded his trust in people. After a transformative experience during spring break, he became a vampire by giving his blood to Kiss-Shot, but thanks to Meme Oshino, he regained his humanity, albeit with some lingering vampire traits like enhanced night vision and accelerated healing. Despite these abilities, he remains fearful of sunlight.
